INVESTIGATION INTO ALLEGED EMBEZZLEMENT AT TOWN OF HOT SULPHUR SPRINGS
GRAND COUNTY, CO – On October 11, 2023, a Grand County Sheriff’s Office Detective met with the Mayor and other representatives from the Town of Hot Sulphur Springs in regards to an allegation of suspected embezzlement by a former town employee. The Sheriff’s Office immediately initiated an investigation and requested the assistance of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) High Tech Crime Unit. Due to the complexity of this investigation, it is expected that this will be an ongoing investigation for an undetermined amount of time. At the conclusion of the investigation the case will be presented to the 14th Judicial District Attorney’s Office for review.
