SHERIFF’S OFFICE ANNOUNCES NEW DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS CENTER

GRAND COUNTY, CO – The Grand County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the promotion of Ashley Macchione to the Director of Emergency Communications position. This vital position is responsible for the overall management and operation of the Grand County Communications Center, which provides emergency communication for law enforcement, fire protection, emergency medical services, and other public safety entities. This position also supervises dispatchers in the Communications Center. Director Macchione replaces current Communications Lieutenant Jeff Bauckman who is transferring to the Special Operations Division. 

Born and raised in Longmont, Colorado, Ashley has called Grand County home for the past two years. Ashley has served the Grand County community as a Communication Specialist working in the Grand County Communications Center since 2022. Prior to coming to Grand County, Ashley worked as a Communication Specialist answering non-emergent and emergent calls for service for the City of Longmont for five years. 

Sheriff Brett Schroetlin shared, “I am honored to have Director Macchione join our leadership team at the Grand County Sheriff’s Office and look forward to supporting her vision of the Communications Center moving forward.”
