Additional Searches on Sunday for Missing Rafter

ADDITIONAL SEARCHES ON SUNDAY FOR MISSING RAFTER

GRAND COUNTY, CO- On Sunday, June 2, 2024, River Rangers from the Bureau of Land Management and an Officer with Colorado Parks and Wildlife conducted additional search operations by raft and kayak in the Colorado River from Radium to Two Bridges and, unfortunately, were still unable to locate the missing rafter from the incident on June 1. 

The Grand County Coroner’s Office has identified the male who was deceased on June 1 as Brent Boulter, a 56-year-old man from Aurora. The missing subject has been identified as Thomas Russell, a 61-year-old man from Littleton. As of 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, Thomas Russell remains missing. Russell was last seen wearing a blue fishing shirt and khaki shorts and was reported to not be wearing a personal flotation device (PFD). 

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone recreating in the Radium / Rancho Del Rio area to remain vigilant and report any sightings or further information by calling or texting 911. 

Emergency responders will be continuing to monitor and search the area as appropriate.
