  • Grand County Alerts is the official emergency alert and warning system used by Grand County, Colorado.  It is primarily used to inform the public about active or ongoing disasters; warn them of the risks and impacts likely with potential hazards; and to provide necessary instructions.

    Personal information provided to Grand County Alerts is private and only used to notify you in the event of an emergency. Your information is not used for marketing purposes and will not be sold to telemarketers or data-mining organizations. A variety of “opt-in” mechanisms are available to ensure you are getting the messages you want to receive, delivered via the devices and communications modes that you choose.

  • Smart 911 address confirmation screen_mapWhen you register, you will be asked to "Confirm Address." If a suggested address doesn't match the address your entered, that is OK! More important than the typed address is that your house is placed correctly on the map.

    • If the red pin on the map is correct, click the green "Confirm This Address" button.
    • If it is not correct, simply use your mouse (on a laptop) or fingers (on a mobile device) to drag the red pin to the correct location. Once the red pin is in the correct location, click the green "Confirm This Address" button.

  • Some of the smaller carriers may not be listed. However, the system should default to the correct carrier whose cell phone tower your carrier uses, or to one of the big three (T-Mobile, Verizon, or AT&T)

  • If you are already signed up for Smart911 in another county or city, you can simply add your Grand County address to your profile. Be sure to also opt-in to Grand County Alerts under the alerts tab.

Alerts can be sent out countywide to everyone who has opted-in to the system, or to a specific area. Emergencies or disasters you might get alerts about include, but are not limited to:

    • Evacuations
