Do I need a building permit?
A building permit is required to perform any construction, alteration, moving, repair, change of use, or demolition of any building or structure.

Exceptions
  • A one-story detached accessory building, which does not exceed 120 square feet, used as a storage shed, playhouse, or similar function, but only when in conjunction with a single family dwelling.
  • Fences not over 6 feet high.
  • Painting, carpeting, cabinets, and similar finish work.
  • Concrete walks or patios not more than 12 inches above grade.
