A building permit is required to perform any construction, alteration, moving, repair, change of use, or demolition of any building or structure.Building
Exceptions- A one-story detached accessory building, which does not exceed 120 square feet, used as a storage shed, playhouse, or similar function, but only when in conjunction with a single family dwelling.
- Fences not over 6 feet high.
- Painting, carpeting, cabinets, and similar finish work.
- Concrete walks or patios not more than 12 inches above grade.

An agricultural building is a structure located on real property classified as agriculture by the Grand County Assessor that is designed, constructed, and used to house farm implements, hay grain, poultry, livestock, or other horticultural products.
This structure shall not be a place of human habitation or a place of employment where agricultural products are processed, treated or packaged, nor shall it be a place used by the public.
