Grand County Housing Authority
Housing Opportunities
Check out our properties. Applications are being accepted for Grand Living Senior Homes, Silver Spruce Apartments, and Cliffview Assisted Living Center at Colorado Housing Search.
Responsibilities
In February 1977 the Board of Commissioners formed the "Housing Authority of the County of Grand." We acquire, develop, lease, and operate affordable housing for Grand County residents with limited incomes. Our funding comes primarily from the federal government and from tenant rents and our local funding partners. We also work in partnership with city and state governments as well as private investors.
Although we are a public agency, we operate in many ways like a private property management company. We and our property managers employ the best practices of the private real estate industry.
Senior Housing
Grand Living Senior Home, located in Granby, is a 24-apartment project that provides rental housing for seniors over the age of 62 and for the disabled. Rental assistance allows residents to pay from 30% of their monthly income toward rent with U.S. Rural Development paying the balance.
Silver Spruce Apartments is located in Kremmling. Rental assistance for seniors over the age of 62 and the disabled allows residents to pay from 30% of their monthly income toward rent with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) paying the balance.
Assisted Living
Cliffview Assisted Living Center, located in Kremmling, Colorado, is a 24-hour assisted living facility that enables the frail elderly and the disabled to remain in the community by providing day to day assistance.
Rental Assistance
The Section 8 Rental Assistance Program is federally subsidized housing for existing rental housing that permits qualified families to obtain rental housing at a rent that they can afford. Our Section 8 rental assistance serves families in Grand, Jackson, Routt, and Gilpin counties. Because of the limited number of units available the program utilizes a waiting list.
Home Ownership Housing
The Housing Authority has not stopped addressing affordable housing in Grand County. The Millers Inn project is a nine-unit homeowners project in Winter Park that enables our citizens that live and work in Grand County to purchase a home at an affordable price and become homeowners. The Housing Authority acquired a nine-unit complex. All units are deed restricted to ensure that they will remain affordable to subsequent purchasers for many years to come.
Down Payment Assistance
In 2004, the Down Payment Assistance Program began providing much needed down-payment assistance that enables those that live and work here, to become homeowners. To complement this program Grand County Housing Authority sponsors the homebuyers education classes entitled "You Can Own Your Own Home". The classes are conducted monthly free of charge. Just call 970-725-3071 to register. View the 2013 schedule in English or Spanish.
Thank you for visiting. See how the Grand County Housing Authority can assist you. It’s our policy to serve our customers without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, familial status, or handicap (disability).
