Road Activities & Reports

  • County Road 491 will be completely closed to traffic to allow for replacement of the driving surface of the bridge. Closure will begin April 20, 2020 and continue through May 20, 2020. No traffic will be allowed on the County Road 491 across the bridge during that time. A map of the detour route can be found here. The detour route is narrow and will not be accessible to large trucks. The detour route is through private property. Please be respectful of the property owners, stay on the designated route and keep speeds at a minimum. Use extra caution as the route crosses narrow bridges.   • Road & Bridge will be applying Magnesium Chloride (Mag) to County roads this summer. The application of Magnesium Chloride to County roads may cause some traffic delays. Please be patient and obey all traffic signage in work zones, including speed limit signs. Magnesium Chloride is a road stabilizer used on unpaved roads to keep the road surface in tact.
    • April 27 District 4 (Kremmling) will begin application starting with County Road 1
    • May 11 District 3 (Parshall / Hot Sulphur) will begin application of Mag
    • May 26 District 2 (Granby / Grand Lake) will begin application of Mag 
    • June 8 District 1 (Fraser / Winter Park) will application of Mag
