Records Management

The Records Division of the Grand County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for processing, maintaining, retrieving, and releasing information and copies of reports in accordance with federal and state statutes. 

Additionally, Records Management provides services such as background checks, copies of reports, processing ticket payments, and maintaining Grand County sex offender registration information.

Records Request

To request a record, please print and fill out our online Records Request Form. This can be emailed to, faxed to 970-725-3227 or brought directly to the office. You must send or bring a copy of your photo identification with your request. 

Time Frame

Requests are generally met within three business days. It may take longer depending on the amount of research taken to pull the report together.


The Records Processing and Dissemination Fee is $15 per request. The Records Research Fee is $30 per hour after the first hour.
