Medical Internship

Internships take place during the school day and are available to anyone in grades 11-12


  • 0.5 credit prerequisite or concurrent in sports medicine classes
  • Hepatitis B shots recommended
  • Immunization record
  • Instructor approval
  • Reliable transportation
  • Signed patient confidentiality form
This is a school-to-career internship experience with one or a combination or several health care providers or educational institutions. Students will complete a minimum of 72 hours. 

Specific goals of this experience are to:
  • Assist students in creating a network with community professionals in their field of interest
  • Demonstrate job application skills
  • Practice professional skills including teamwork, timelines, initiative, attitude, presentation, responsibility, decision-making, and problem solving
  • Provide students with meaningful work and experience in the health care field
  • Understand career opportunities in health care, and comprehend the roles, skills, education, and personal characteristics of health care professionals
