From the Sheriff:

To provide professional services to the citizens and public safety agencies of Grand County utilizing team-oriented, professional, courteous and trained telecommunicator's.

The Grand County Communications center is the primary answering point for 911 calls in Grand
County.  We dispatch emergency and non emergency calls for service and provide support for
the Grand County Sheriff’s Department, Fraser Winter Park Police Department, Granby Police
Department, Kremmling Police Department, Grand County EMS, Fire and Rescue, Search and
Rescue, Road and Bridge and also handle air traffic control for Flight for Llife and Airlife medical
helicopters while in Grand County.

We have reverse 9-1-1 capabilities that will evacuate a designated area of our County in case of
a disaster by calling all telephones in that area and playing a recorded message instructing
residents what action to take for safety.

Currently we employ 1 supervisor, Sgt. Bob Florquist and 7 full time dispatchers to provide 24
our service to the community.  We utilize Emergency Medical Dispatching which provides pre
arrival instructions for the public while an ambulance is responding to the patient.

VIN checks (Vehicle Identification Number)
Inspections are done by the Department of Motor Vehicle located at the Grand County Courthouse. Please provide your current title registration, or other document listing the VIN number. DMV can be contacted at 970-725-3347 if you have any questions regarding what is needed.

If the vehicle cannot be brought to the Courthouse, you may contact the Sheriff's Department at 970-725-3343. The call will be placed to dispatch to arrange a time for an officer to meet you at the vehicle for the inspection.
